Getting a major repair quote can be stressful, especially when it comes to your Subaru. Did the previous shop diagnose it correctly? Is the replacement actually necessary? Is the price fair? At JFM Auto, your Independent Subaru Specialists, we believe you shouldn't have to pay twice just to get peace of mind. Because we specialize specifically in Subaru systems, we often catch nuances that general repair shops or non-specialized dealers might miss.
Our Policy: Bring Your Receipt, Get a Free Verification. If you have recently paid a dealership or another independent shop for a diagnostic service, we will take a 'Second Look' at those specific findings free of charge. Our aim is to ensure that the recommended Subaru repairs are genuinely needed, so you don’t waste money on parts that aren’t broken.
How It Works: Show Proof of Prior Diagnosis: Bring us the invoice or receipt showing you paid for a diagnosis at another facility, along with their findings or quote. The Complimentary Check: Our specialized technicians will inspect the specific components or systems in question to verify the original diagnosis. The Verdict: We will let you know if we agree with their findings, if we see a different cause, or if the Subaru repair can be done more affordably using our specialized knowledge.
No Surprise Costs—Ever. Our goal is to confirm the issue without opening your wallet. However, some diagnosis steps may require materials. Fluids & Consumables: If verifying the issue requires adding fluids (like checking a CVT transmission level) or using shop consumables, we will stop and consult you for approval before incurring any cost. New Directions: If we discover the previous shop was completely off-track and we need to start a new diagnostic path, we will contact you immediately to discuss the plan. We never spend your money without your permission.
The Fine Print (Exclusions): To keep this service complimentary and available to our community, there are a few exceptions: Deep Electrical & Wiring: Complex wiring shorts, 'gremlins,' or intermittent electrical failures are excluded due to the high time intensity required to trace them. Programming: Issues requiring module flashing, key programming, or software updates are not eligible for the Second Look program. Scope: This offer applies to verifying a specific diagnosis you have already paid for. It does not apply to general 'check-over' requests without a prior paid invoice.
